The Glen Ellyn Historical Society provides Educational Outreach programs at all DuPage County School Districts. Special tours of Stacy’s Tavern Museum, classroom programs, exhibits, first-person portrayals and other programs provide students and participants of all ages a connection to the past and early Glen Ellyn.
Then and Now programs brought into the classroom by costumed volunteer facilitators truly make history come alive for students. Many students return to Stacy’s Tavern Museum with parents in tow to share the experience of visiting this unique landmark.
To make arrangements for a special tour of Stacy’s Tavern Museum or to schedule a School Outreach program, call the Historical Society at 630–469-1867 or email the director at director@gehs.org.
In October of 2020, the Historical Society offered a driving tour of some spooky sites in Glen Ellyn.
Even though it was designed for Halloween, you can drive the tour any day of the year! The entire tour is on video. Just go behind Stacy's Tavern Museum at 557 Geneva Rd. to begin. The video tour will tell you when to pause the video, and where to drive next. The video itself is about a half hour long, and the entire tour takes about an hour to complete (driving and optional walking included). To play the tour directly on YouTube, click here:
