Philo W. Stacy

Philo W. Stacy built a Stick Style Queen Anne house on the original site of his parents’ homestead when they came to Glen Ellyn in 1835. The house was moved in June of 1996 to 677 Highland Ave. Philo was one of the originators for the idea of Lake Ellyn and also served as Justice of the Peace from 1888-1892 and managed the roads and streets from 1881-1890 for Milton Township. He joined the 141 Illinois Infantry, Company H in 1864 and served in the Civil War.
